The Moise Y. Safra Collaborative Research Award is administered by Harvard University’s Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence. It supports collaborative research and scholarly exchange between the institute and academic research institutions in Israel. The program aims to advance compelling research aligned with the Kempner mission of understanding intelligence in natural and artificial systems, while strengthening intellectual exchange between researchers in the United States and Israel.
Proposals may address foundations of intelligence, including mathematical and computational models, cognitive theories, and neurobiological mechanisms. They may also develop new AI/ML methods or applications with clearly defined methodological, analytical, or performance advances. Projects should explain why both collaborators are essential and support substantive scholarly exchange. Preference is given to substantive in-person research exchanges.
