The Haynes Lindley Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships are awarded annually by the John Randolph Haynes and Dora Haynes Foundation to support doctoral scholarship relevant to greater Los Angeles. Named in memory of former Foundation President and Trustee Haynes Lindley, the fellowships support dissertation fieldwork, research, or writing in public policy or historical studies.
The Foundation seeks research addressing economic, social, policy, or political problems affecting Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Ventura counties. Projects may address immediate policy concerns or provide basic research underlying future policy efforts. Research with a broader geographic scope is also considered when an important part of the work impacts the Los Angeles region.
