Description
The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) for Hurricane Milton (DR-4834), administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM), provides funding to eligible Florida entities for the implementation of long-term hazard mitigation projects aimed at reducing future disaster risks. This program is federally funded under Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act and is designed to help communities recover from major disasters by supporting projects that increase resilience and lessen the impacts of future events.
Eligible projects must be prioritized by each county’s Local Mitigation Strategy Working Group (LMSWG) and included on their project priority list before an application can be submitted through the FDEM portal.
