Description
Virginia Humanities’ HBCU Scholars Fellowship develops and amplifies underrepresented voices and research in academic and applied humanities. It supports HBCU-affiliated writers, community scholars, and faculty through funding, access to academic publishing outlets, public promotion, and a community of peers. Projects may span traditional, public, or digital humanities and human-centered social sciences. Preference is given, but not limited, to work engaging Virginia’s historical significance, elevating historically marginalized narratives, or exploring broader South Atlantic themes.
Fellows can use University of Virginia library resources and Library of Virginia archives, exchange ideas with peers and experts, and share their work publicly through With Good Reason and a final presentation.
