Description
The Hubbard County Coalition of Lake Associations (HCCOLA) Charitable Fund, offered through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, supports charitable and educational programs, projects, and activities in Hubbard County, Minnesota, and watersheds that impact the county. Its purpose is to facilitate cooperation among member lake associations and encourage environmentally sustainable use of lakes and watersheds that protects, preserves, and enhances lake quality and surrounding environments.
Supported work includes early detection of aquatic invasive species (AIS), aquatic vegetation surveys, water-quality and shoreland research, shoreline restoration, and public education. The fund also supports conservation easements and other property acquisition for sustainable public use, development and preservation guidelines for natural resources, and establishment of individual lake association educational and charitable funds.
