Description
Health Foundation of Greater Massillon (HFGM), a supporting foundation of Stark Community Foundation, invests in local organizations to improve health status, encourage wellness activities and strengthen community well-being. It supports well-planned programs and activities that promote physical, emotional and mental health for individuals and families in Western Stark, Northern Tuscarawas and Eastern Wayne counties. Its vision is to inspire a healthier community.
HFGM was created in 1999 when Massillon Community Hospital and Akron General Medical Center entered into a joint venture, ensuring resources would remain available for local health and wellness initiatives. It became a supporting foundation of Stark Community Foundation in 2016. A board of local active and retired business professionals oversees its mission, reviews proposals and makes funding decisions.
