Description
The Health System Impact Embedded Early Career Researcher Award is administered by CIHR’s Institute of Health Services and Policy Research (IHSPR), with partner institutes, the Centre for Research on Pandemic Preparedness and Health Emergencies, and the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research. It supports embedded research aligned with health system organizations’ evidence needs, strengthening decision-making, learning and improvement across Canada.
The award combines salary and research support, protected research time, dual mentorship, professional development and national networking. It aims to build embedded research capacity, strengthen academic–health system partnerships and establish career pathways for embedded scholars. Research should advance the Quintuple Aim: population health, patient experience, provider satisfaction, better value and health equity. Existing employees may apply, but unchanged, status quo positions will not be funded.
