    Description

The Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) offers Travel Grants primarily to help trainees and early-career members present their research at scientific conferences and meetings of educational benefit. Presentations must contain sufficient content on healthcare-acquired infections and infection prevention and control to fall within the Society’s scientific remit and be relevant to the conference. Eligible conferences include approved HIS and HIS-supported events, such as Federation of Infection Societies International Conferences and HIS Special Interest Group conferences.

The grant contributes to the practical costs of participation, including registration, travel, accommodation, subsistence, and childcare or companion costs. Support is available for face-to-face, hybrid and online presentations. HIS encourages environmentally responsible travel and gives preference to applications using trains, buses, carpooling or other low-emission transport rather than flights where alternatives are available.
