    Description

The Michigan Health Endowment Fund’s Healthy Aging program supports programs, partnerships, and models that improve older adults’ health, well-being, and independence while reducing the cost of care. It seeks to integrate Michigan’s aging services into the broader health care system, strengthen partner capacity, and fill critical gaps in services and support.

The program’s identified priorities are access to care, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, caregiving, and elder justice. Supported approaches include preventive, behavioral, and palliative care, innovative respite models, professional caregiver retention, and collaborative prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Across these areas, the fund seeks projects that address disparities, promote health equity, and meaningfully involve older adults or caregivers. Workforce development and technology projects are also considered, with greater competitiveness for proposals that can inform broader Michigan policy or systems change.
