Description
The New Jersey Department of Health funds the Healthy Corner Store Initiative to improve access to fresh produce and other healthy foods at small grocers, including corner stores. Funding supports equipment such as refrigerators and freezers so stores can stock these foods. The initiative pairs increased availability with nutrition education to help eligible SNAP recipients make healthy food choices and establish lasting habits, including healthy eating and physical activity.
