Helmholtz Distinguished Professorships support the recruitment of outstanding women scientists from abroad to lead permanent research groups at Helmholtz Centers in partnership with German universities.

Key Information: Only women scientists with international reputations currently working abroad are eligible; direct applications from candidates are not accepted.
Description
This program aims to attract exceptionally qualified, internationally recognized women scientists from abroad to permanent W3-level professorships at Helmholtz Centers in Germany, in partnership with German universities. The initiative seeks to strengthen leadership by women in research, foster internationalization, and enhance strategic collaboration between the Helmholtz Association and academic institutions. Up to three professorships are available in this call, each supported by substantial funding to establish and equip a research group.
