Description
The Sons of Norway Foundation’s Helping Hands to Members – Medical Relief Grants assist current members experiencing severe financial hardship caused by extreme medical illness or personal injury. The program provides relief for expenses that have not been fully reimbursed by insurance or covered by other assistance, including personal fundraising, government support, and charitable organizations.
Awards are supported by the Foundation’s Humanitarian Fund. A review committee considers requests on a rolling basis, with final decisions based on assessed losses and available financial support. Medical billing, insurance information, and descriptions of illness or injury are kept secure and confidential. Recipients complete a simple follow-up report to help the Foundation assess the program’s effectiveness.
