Description
The Henry and Louise Timken Foundation awards charitable grants primarily for the benefit of the Stark County community and programs of special interest. It is a supporting foundation of Stark Community Foundation, governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees. Its grantmaking gives preference to organizations with a Stark County presence and programs supporting medical vision services, aviation, and the arts.
The foundation transitioned from a private foundation to a supporting foundation in 1980 and has played an integral role in funding downtown Canton redevelopment efforts. Community benefit remains central to its grantmaking: in general, requested funds must benefit Stark County.
