Description
The Heritage Awards, administered annually by Maryland Traditions through the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC), celebrate significant, long-term contributions to the preservation and enrichment of Maryland’s folk and traditional arts. Up to six awards are given each year to individuals, places, or traditions that have demonstrated outstanding achievement in sustaining community-based cultural practices. The awards honor tradition bearers, artists, organizations, and cultural sites whose dedication ensures the vitality and continuity of Maryland’s diverse heritage for future generations.
