Description
The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Heritage Partnership Program funds collaborations with eligible entities on projects that provide conservation and recreational benefits. Every project must provide a conservation benefit and qualify for Heritage funding. Its three categories address sensitive habitat, public access, and urban wildlife.
Sensitive habitat projects preserve and enhance Arizona’s natural biological diversity through habitat identification, inventory, acquisition, protection, or management. Public access projects increase or maintain recreational access. Urban wildlife projects conserve, enhance, or establish wildlife habitats and populations in harmony with urban environments. Previously funded work includes New Mexico jumping mouse ecology, desert pupfish genetics, and conservation education at Betty’s Kitchen.
