The Herpetologists’ League Graduate Research Award (HLGRA) honors exceptional graduate research in herpetology, specifically targeting M.S. and Ph.D. students who have completed or are nearing completion of their thesis or dissertation. The award is designed to highlight research that is conceptually grounded, well-organized, and refined through critical feedback and practice. Up to ten finalists are selected annually to present their work at the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists (JMIH), with winners receiving cash prizes, professional recognition, and opportunities for publication in leading herpetological journals.
