Description
The Illinois Department of Human Services administers this continuation funding through the Office of Community and Positive Youth Development’s Bureau of Violence Prevention. It supports Back to Our Future (B2OF), an ultra high needs intervention program serving youth ages 14–21 from five target communities who have become disconnected from district schools. Intensive reengagement programming and employment connections aim to reduce participants’ involvement in violence and reconnect them with educational pathways suited to their individual needs.
B2OF provides mental and behavioral health assessments and individual and group therapy. Providers engage young people in their homes and communities, meeting them where they are, while the grantee subcontracts direct services to sub-vendors. The program also supports participants’ immediate families through in-house family-based services and connections to other agencies, resources, and clinical services when needed.
