Description
The Alaska Space Grant Program’s Higher Education program supports college-level educational projects that develop the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics workforce in disciplines needed to achieve NASA’s strategic goals. It funds faculty development of new or revised NASA-relevant courses and curricula, as well as interdisciplinary student team activities that address NASA’s workforce needs.
The program provides startup support for high-impact higher education activities at member institutions. Preference goes to projects offering authentic, hands-on student experiences: active learning rooted in NASA-related STEM questions, real-life problem-solving, and practical needs. Proposals must demonstrate alignment with the goals of at least one NASA Directorate or Center and collaboration or cooperation across two or more disciplines or fields of study.
