Description
This Horizon Europe Innovation Action funds research and innovation projects that develop and demonstrate next-generation, modular high-voltage powertrain systems for heavy-duty vehicles (HDV), with a focus on compatibility with Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS). The call aims to address major challenges in cost and fast charging for HD battery electric vehicles by increasing system voltages (beyond 800V), improving energy efficiency, and enabling scalable, modular solutions that reduce total cost of ownership. Projects should also demonstrate benefits for auxiliary systems (e.g., thermal management), consider modular/removable battery systems for sustainability, and develop flexible hardware/software interfaces. Solutions must be validated in relevant operational environments and contribute to the European Partnership ‘Towards zero emission road transport’ (2ZERO) KPIs.
