Description
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety’s Office of Highway Safety and Justice Programs (OHSJP) administers the federally funded State and Community Highway Safety Program and coordinates highway safety activities statewide on behalf of the Governor’s Office. Funding comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and may include other federal highway safety funds received by the state.
Highway Safety Grants help qualified applicants create new programs or expand existing ones. Projects must address a specific highway safety problem through an approach that directly improves driver behavior and reduces traffic-related collisions, injuries, and fatalities.
