Description
The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is a federal program administered in Washington by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). It directs safety funding toward critical needs on state and local roads, following Washington’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan, Target Zero, and local road safety plans. Lane-departure and intersection crashes are priority areas.
Local funding is delivered through the County Safety, City Safety, and Railway-Highway Crossings programs.
