Key Information: Non-member young investigators must apply with a Hip Society member as co-PI and study consultant.

    Description

The Hip Society Research Grant supports original research through study funding and/or Society endorsement. Administered by the Society’s Research Committee, chaired by William M. Mihalko, MD PhD, the program accepts member-submitted proposals, non-member young investigator seed projects, and applications responding to a targeted American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) request for proposals.

Projects may be stand-alone studies or proof-of-concept trials for larger studies requiring additional funding. Multi-center proposals with potential for high impact receive favorable consideration. The AJRR request specifically seeks randomized prospective trials comparing cemented versus press fit femoral stems for femoral neck fractures. Projects begin with a one-year period and may receive annual renewal, subject to review and approval, for up to three years total.
