Description
Virginia Works’ H.I.R.E.D. Apprenticeship Fund helps employers create or expand Registered Apprenticeship programs in Virginia’s high-demand industries. The fund supports training that combines paid on-the-job learning with classroom instruction and leads to a nationally recognized credential. Industries identified by the program include education, information technology, the care economy, service trades, manufacturing, and maintenance and repair; the list is not exclusive.
The fund can reimburse training-related costs such as instructor time and materials, as well as eligible supportive services for apprentices. Its goals are to strengthen Virginia’s skilled-worker pipelines and help employers develop and retain talent. The published round also encouraged opportunities serving rural areas and underserved populations.
