Description
The Connecticut State Library’s Office of the Public Records Administrator administers the Historic Documents Preservation Program to improve the preservation and management of local government records. Targeted Grants support records projects in one or more municipal departments, including planning surveys, indexing, scanning, records management systems, storage improvements, microfilming, and conservation. The program seeks to improve public access, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and keep municipal records available for future generations.
Disaster Recovery Grants help defray recovery costs not covered by insurance following natural or man-made disasters affecting essential, permanent, or archival records in any municipal department. These grants are subject to available funding, and their separate guidelines are available on request. Targeted Grants receive priority funding within the program.
