Description
The New Jersey Historic Preservation Office administers Certified Local Government (CLG) grants in partnership with the National Park Service. The competitive program supports local historic preservation work and is funded through a required pass-through of 10% of New Jersey’s federal historic preservation allocation.
Projects may identify buildings, sites, structures, objects, and districts that meet criteria for the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places, or develop planning tools to protect historic resources. Typical work includes architectural and archaeological surveys, National Register nominations, preservation plans, educational outreach, CLG training, and disaster planning for historic properties and districts.
