Description
The Tennessee Historical Commission, Tennessee’s State Historic Preservation Office, administers this National Park Service-funded matching grant program. It supports projects that document, plan for, and restore historic resources across Tennessee. Applications fall into two categories: survey and planning, or restoration.
Survey and planning work may include architectural and archaeological surveys, preservation plans for communities and neighborhoods, historic district design guidelines, and National Register nominations. Restoration funding supports work on National Register-listed historic buildings, particularly those with a public use such as museums, courthouses, and libraries.
