Description
The Hitchcock Foundation Scholar’s Program provides two-year career development awards to promising young investigators committed to clinically oriented research at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth College. Its goal is to increase the institutions’ pool of extramurally funded clinical researchers by helping faculty develop into independent investigators.
The program combines mentored research with an individualized career development plan and departmental support. Training should build on each applicant’s experience and develop the skills needed for high-quality research, through coursework, seminars, tutorials, or supervised research. Relevant topics include study design, data management, epidemiology, hypothesis development, biostatistics, drug development, and basic science, alongside required human-subjects or animal training. Funding comes from the Tiffany Blake and Joshua Burnett endowments held by The Hitchcock Foundation.
