Description
The Home Repair Network Program, managed by the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, provides funding for housing rehabilitation services to address the needs of low- and moderate-income individuals throughout Maine. Delivered via a regional network, the program supports a range of activities: repair and improvement of single- and multi-family homes, demolition and replacement of homes on the same site, provision of potable water and sewer, energy conservation, removal or mitigation of hazardous materials (like lead-based paint, asbestos, and radon), and removal of architectural barriers. The initiative also includes a Critical Access Ramp Program to enhance accessibility. Funding is distributed through a lead community, which contracts with local agencies for effective regional delivery.
