The National Honey Board (NHB) supports research that helps beekeepers maintain the health of their honey bees. Its production research encompasses honey bee health and work related to the natural production of honey before packaging. NHB has supported honey bee health research since 2004 and was among the first organizations to fund Colony Collapse Disorder research in early 2007.
Since 2017, Project Apis m. (PAm) has administered NHB’s production research funding. This partnership brings NHB funding opportunities together with other initiatives coordinated by PAm, streamlining support for the beekeeping industry. It also enables collaboration with other resources for projects that may require more time or longer funding commitments.
