The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) in 2009, aims to attract exceptional students from around the globe to undertake full-time PhD studies at Hong Kong's top research universities. The scheme is open to all disciplines, including sciences, engineering, medicine, technology, humanities, social sciences, and business studies. Awardees are selected based on academic excellence, research potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities. Each year, 400 fellowships are available, providing generous financial support and opportunities to participate in Hong Kong’s vibrant research environment.
