The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) aims to attract exceptional students from around the world to undertake full-time PhD studies at Hong Kong’s leading universities. Established by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council in 2009, the scheme fosters academic excellence and innovation across all research disciplines by supporting students with strong academic records, research potential, communication skills, and leadership qualities. Up to 400 fellowships will be awarded for the 2027/28 academic year.
