Description
Established by Hong Kong’s Research Grants Council (RGC) in 2009, the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme aims to attract outstanding students from around the world to pursue doctoral studies in Hong Kong. Listed by UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, the fellowship supports doctoral education through an annual stipend and an allowance for conferences and research-related travel, rather than funding a specified research project.
The scheme covers study areas reviewed by two expert panels: Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Technology; and Humanities, Social Sciences and Business Studies. Academic excellence is the primary selection consideration, alongside research ability and potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.
