The Honor Frost Foundation’s Medium Grants support maritime archaeology through research, skills development, partnerships, and activities that increase the visibility and value of marine cultural heritage. The Foundation primarily supports research, education, and outreach in the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria. Projects in other regions or across regions may also receive funding, depending on the project.
The programme values high-quality regional research and work that strengthens the regional research environment. Capacity-building priorities include conservation, dive training, marine geophysics, and database development. Projects may also develop regional partnerships or connect activities to achieve multiple benefits. Each project is expected to address at least one of the programme’s evaluation categories, and applicants are encouraged to identify the relevant categories in their applications.
