Description
The Hood Pediatric Innovation Hub is a collaboration between the Charles H. Hood Foundation and the MIT Health and Life Sciences Collaborative (MIT HEALS). It provides seed funding and strategic support for high-impact research that accelerates pediatric healthcare innovation, develops transformative technologies, and addresses critical unmet needs in pediatric medicine. Drawing on MIT HEALS’s interdisciplinary expertise, the Hub supports emerging scientific leaders in translating pediatric discoveries into tangible health outcomes for children globally.
The initiative responds to innovation gaps that have left children receiving treatments originally developed for adults. It combines research support with strategic investments through the Foundation’s venture arm, CH Innovations LLC, to help pediatric solutions reach patients. Its broader work includes outreach, education, advocacy, and collaboration to promote economically viable pathways for pediatric treatments.
