Description
Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s Housing initiative invests in strategies to make housing more accessible and create communities where everyone has a place to live. Grounded in the foundation’s belief that having a place to live is a human right, its recent grantmaking has focused on grassroots community organizing led by neighbors and equity-focused coalitions advancing affordable housing solutions.
Proposed work should focus on coalition-building, policy advocacy, or growing leadership in support of the “3Ps of housing”: production, preservation, and tenant protection. The initiative connects community organizing with action on affordable housing, supporting collective efforts to produce housing, preserve housing, and protect tenants.
