Description
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), through its Homelessness, Housing and Support Services Administration, is seeking proposals to build capacity in the Housing Support Program (HSP). HSP helps pay room and board for people with low incomes who have a disability or are 65 or older. This grant focuses on expanding access to room-and-board benefits for people receiving Medical Assistance home and community-based services (HCBS), rather than funding HSP supplemental services.
Projects may strengthen providers’ administrative capacity, improve connections to housing benefits and housing transitions, or develop regional and collaborative HSP models. DHS aims to increase access to stable, community-integrated housing while reducing the risks of homelessness and unnecessary institutionalization.
