Description
The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) administers the HOME CHDO Operating Grant through the federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program. It supports certified Community Housing Development Organizations working to advance affordable housing in North Dakota. Operating assistance strengthens organizational capacity to develop, sponsor, or own housing for low- and moderate-income residents, rather than paying project-specific development expenses.
Support covers reasonable and necessary organizational operating costs, including salaries, staff training, and general administration. The grant has its own guidelines, application, and accompanying exhibit. It is separate from the National Housing Trust Fund and from HOME rental-production project financing. The broader HOME program addresses owner-occupied rehabilitation, rental production and rehabilitation, and homebuyer down-payment assistance.
