Summary: Supports international exchange for professionals to advance scientific knowledge and expertise via travel and collaboration with ACSM member host scientists.
This grant encourages innovative approaches to advancing technical expertise and scientific knowledge among professionals through international exchange. The award supports a range of professional activities, with an emphasis on research-based proposals, but also considers other initiatives that can demonstrate advancement of the professional standing and reputation of scientists. Recipients are required to travel internationally: U.S. and Canadian scholars must visit institutions outside North America, while international scholars visit institutions within the U.S. or Canada. Applicants must independently select a host scientist who is an ACSM member.
Preference is given to early-career professionals and to proposals that foster new research and professional opportunities in the applicant's home country. Recipients are expected to attend the ACSM Annual Meeting and submit a report post-visit, with all resulting work acknowledging the ACSM Foundation and its international community.
