The Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation (HSF) supports mentored educational experiences that build clinical and procedural skills in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) management. The program connects residents, post-dermatology residency fellows, and faculty with HS experts when distance or funding might otherwise prevent mentorship. Its goal is to improve patient care and foster careers that include HS-related clinical care, research, and teaching.
Awardees and mentors jointly tailor the experience to the awardee’s interests. Activities include collaborative outpatient, procedural, and/or inpatient care focused on HS, reviewing and synthesizing medical literature, and participating in quality improvement and/or research projects that may lead to publications. Awardees may also attend educational conferences at the mentor’s location and assist with general dermatology outpatient care. Priority is given to practitioners applying from states without an HS clinic.
