Description
This annual bursary is awarded by the Trustees of the French Huguenot Church of London Charitable Trust on the advice of the Institute of Historical Research (IHR). It supports historians researching any aspect of the history of French, Dutch, Flemish, or Walloon Protestants from the 16th century to the present, in any geographical area.
The bursary is intended to enable a period of archival research leading to a scholarly publication or completion of a doctoral thesis. Scholars at any career stage may apply, including those based outside the UK. Applicants must demonstrate a clear path from the proposed research to its outputs, and recipients are expected to share their findings through English-language publications and a short contribution to the IHR’s On History Blog.
