--- ## Description The Human Services Professional Renewal Program, funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc., provides human services professionals the opportunity to design and pursue a plan for personal and professional renewal. The program aims to foster wellness, restoration, and sustained impact by supporting activities that encourage relaxation, learning, creativity, and self-care. Applicants are encouraged to select renewal experiences that are personally meaningful and tailored to their unique needs. Activities can include travel, cultural exploration, family and heritage connections, adventure, wellness, and spiritual growth, among others. The program is administered by the United Way of Central Indiana and is open to eligible professionals serving the Central Indiana region. --- ## Due Dates - May 30, 2025: Full application deadline (including supplemental application for substitute staff) - May 30, 2026: Full application deadline (including supplemental application for substitute staff) All applications must be submitted by 5:00pm ET on the respective due dates. --- ## Funding Amount - Individual applicants may request up to **$12,000** to support their renewal plan. - Organizations may request a **supplemental grant of up to $5,000** (one per grant period) to cover costs for hiring substitute staff while the awardee participates in renewal activities. - Up to 25% of the requested funds (maximum $3,000) may be allocated for tax liability. --- ## Eligibility Applicants must meet **all** of the following criteria: - Be employed by United Way of Central Indiana or a United Way of Central Indiana accredited organization. - Have at least **five consecutive years** of employment with their current organization as of the application deadline. - Have at least **eight consecutive years** of employment in the human services nonprofit sector as of the application deadline. - Primarily serve clients in the United Way of Central Indiana service area (Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, Morgan, and Putnam counties). - Not have previously received a Human Services Professional Renewal Program award. - Submit a complete application by the deadline. **Note:** United Way accredited organizations must be not-for-profits incorporated for at least five years, with at least two full-time employees, and not fall under excluded categories (e.g., animal welfare, religious organizations with required instruction, sports leagues, hospital systems, educational institutions, nursing homes, arts/cultural organizations, environmental organizations, museums, foundations). Non-accredited organizations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. --- ## Application Process 1. **Review eligibility and award requirements** using the [Application Guide](https://www.uwci.org/s/25-26-HSPRP-Application-Guide-Word.docx). 2. **Prepare application materials** including: - Personal and employment information - Description of your renewal plan and its anticipated impact - General outline of anticipated expenses (detailed budget not required at initial stage) 3. **Submit your application** via the [online application portal](https://uwci.tfaforms.net/4728812) by the deadline. 4. Applications are scored based on commitment, contributions, clarity, and alignment of the renewal plan with program goals.
