The Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme (HSSPFS) supports outstanding academic staff in the humanities and social sciences at Hong Kong’s UGC-funded universities. The scheme offers extended time-off from teaching and administrative duties, together with funding for research expenses, enabling awardees to concentrate on advancing significant research or scholarly writing. Funding covers salary costs for relief teachers, research staff, equipment, travel, subsistence, and dissemination of research outputs. The program aims to foster major contributions to the humanities and social sciences by providing the necessary resources and institutional backing for impactful research.
