Description
The Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme (HSSPFS), administered by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC), provides outstanding investigators with extended time away from teaching and administrative duties to concentrate on research and writing. Introduced in 2012/13, it supports researchers with a proven record of research and publication in disciplines covered by the Humanities and Social Sciences Panel.
The scheme supports both new projects and established research programmes, provided the activities produce significant research or other scholarly outputs by the fellowship’s end. Outputs may include publications or other scholarly forms, including work arising from research conducted before the fellowship. Textbooks and straightforward translations are excluded. Creative arts proposals must contain research elements contributing to academic attainment, and applicants must justify their outputs’ value and appropriateness.
