Description
The Humanities Cultivation Fund, administered through the MIT Human Insight Collaborative (MITHIC), supports individual and collaborative work in the humanities and arts. It aims to stimulate generative research and innovative productions across the humanities and the humanistic study of related disciplines. Within MITHIC, the fund contributes to a broader effort to advance human-centered research and teaching, expand human understanding, and educate future leaders.
The fund supports basic research as well as work that explores or contributes to the human insights of civil society. Examples include creating new archives, conducting research with community groups, and producing public-facing scholarship. It considers both full proposals for projects ready to begin and smaller planning grants preparing the way for future proposals.
