Description
The Humanities Program of The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation supports institutions committed to advancing humanist scholarship and artistic achievement. The program funds projects addressing the historical studia humanitatis, fostering humanistic education rooted in tradition, the formation of individuals according to cultural, moral, and aesthetic ideals, and the ongoing debate about these ideals. Supported fields include history, archaeology, literature, languages (classical and modern), philosophy, ethics, comparative religion, the history and theory of the arts, and aspects of the social sciences sharing humanistic methods. The Foundation encourages interdisciplinary projects and those exploring connections between the humanities and other fields. While there is a focus on European and American history and letters, the program is not exclusive to these regions, and projects from institutions in Venice are also eligible.
