--- ## Description The Humanities Program of The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation supports institutions committed to advancing humanist scholarship and artistic achievement. The program funds projects addressing the historical *studia humanitatis*, fostering humanistic education rooted in tradition, the formation of individuals according to cultural, moral, and aesthetic ideals, and the ongoing debate about these ideals. Supported fields include history, archaeology, literature, languages (classical and modern), philosophy, ethics, comparative religion, the history and theory of the arts, and aspects of the social sciences sharing humanistic methods. The Foundation encourages interdisciplinary projects and those exploring connections between the humanities and other fields. While there is a focus on European and American history and letters, the program is not exclusive to these regions, and projects from institutions in Venice are also eligible. --- ## Due Dates - Rolling (No set deadlines; proposals accepted throughout the year) --- ## Funding Amount - Grants are typically made for single-year projects. - Award sizes vary; applicants are encouraged to review the Foundation’s [list of past grantees](https://www.delmas.org/grantees-humanities) for examples. - The Foundation generally does not fund multi-year projects, capital campaigns, building/renovation projects, or overhead/indirect costs. --- ## Eligibility - U.S. not-for-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. - Organizations utilizing a U.S. fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status. - Not-for-profit organizations outside the U.S. with appropriate documentation (contact the Foundation for requirements). - Typical applicants include institutions of higher education, learned societies, museums, and major editorial projects. - Projects from institutions in Venice relating to the humanities are specifically eligible. - Grants to individuals are not provided under this program (see the [Venetian Research Program](https://www.delmas.org/venetian-research-program) for individual support). **Restrictions:** - No support for capital campaigns, building/renovation projects, overhead, or indirect costs. - Multi-year funding is generally not available. - Endowment campaigns are rarely supported and only when closely aligned with Foundation purposes. --- ## Application Process - Review the [Programs for Organizations](https://www.delmas.org/programs-for-organizations) and [Eligibility & Restrictions](https://www.delmas.org/eligibility-restrictions) pages. - Register and apply via the Foundation’s [online grants portal](https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=kriebledelmas).
