Description
Northwestern University’s Office of the Provost administers the Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts (HSSA) Research Grant to support excellence in faculty scholarship and creative work. The program funds research and creative practice in the humanities, social sciences, and visual and performing arts, particularly in fields with little external or start-up funding.
Awards are made through an annual selection process. The program considers how proposed activities advance faculty careers, strengthen an applicant’s body of scholarship or creative work, and contribute to the field through dissemination, including publications, papers, future grant applications, and performances. Priority goes to research projects without other internal or external funding.
