Description
This Fulbright U.S. Scholar award supports research projects of the applicant’s choosing in any discipline in Hungary. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) co-funds cooperation with U.S. scholars at research units designated as MTA Centres of Excellence. Scholars must affiliate with a listed centre, with affiliations reflecting their specializations. Collaboration with Hungarian scholars is preferred.
The award combines research with Fulbright’s mission of strengthening relationships and international understanding. Research may be scientific, qualitative, quantitative, applied, clinical, or practice-based, including artistic research. Scholars may also participate in faculty training, curriculum development, alumni meetings, community outreach, or invited guest lectures. They may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and engage with the host community alongside their primary project.
