Description
The Hyde Teaching Fellowship honors Williams College’s foundation as a liberal arts teaching institution devoted to undergraduate education. It supports senior faculty in developing courses that promote broad-based learning and versatility in teaching. Courses may connect multiple areas of the curriculum, introduce approaches from several disciplines, add a new departmental or program focus, or engage students whose primary interests lie elsewhere. The fellowship also encourages faculty to teach beyond their specific areas of expertise within their discipline.
Alongside course development, the fellowship supports curricular and co-curricular activities such as invited speakers, field trips, experiential learning modules, and instructional technology. Proposals address how the work would enhance teaching within or beyond a department or program, which students would benefit, and its potential long-term impact.
