Description
The Hydroponics Grant Program is run by the STEM Action Center within the Utah Department of Cultural and Community Engagement. It helps Utah schools and community sites establish hands-on, soil-free growing. Students can grow food year-round while developing practical skills through learning aligned with Utah Science Standards. The Utah STEM Foundation and its industry members provide financial support for hydroponics units and supplies.
Participating sites receive teaching resources to help integrate growing into classroom instruction. The program also connects growers through a quarterly community-of-practice newsletter and regional HydroMasters, who support sites and develop Utah-focused curriculum materials.
