Description
Villa I Tatti and the Museo Nacional del Prado offer a joint residential fellowship for the 2027–2028 academic year. Designed for early and mid-career scholars in art history, it gives preference to advanced research on relationships between Spain and Italy during the Renaissance, broadly understood as the 14th through 17th centuries. This includes transnational connections and dialogues with Latin America.
Fellows spend the fall term in Madrid, supported by the American Friends of the Prado Museum, and the spring term in Florence. At the Prado, they receive access to the Library, Archive, and Collections, a Study Center workspace, and an academic supervisor. At I Tatti, the Biblioteca Berenson supports research and writing. Participation in both institutions’ academic communities encourages scholarly exchange and the study of Renaissance art and cultural relationships.
