Description
The IADR Hatton Competition gives outstanding investigators from IADR Divisions and Sections an opportunity to present their research at the annual IADR General Session. Run by the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research, it recognizes work in three separately judged categories: junior research, senior clinical/pre-clinical research, and senior basic science research. Up to six competitors receive monetary prizes and commemorative trophies.
The competition combines scientific recognition with opportunities to communicate research to reviewers and the general public. Clinical/pre-clinical entries involve human subjects or epidemiologic studies, while basic science entries involve laboratory or animal research. The IADR Awards Review Committee assesses presentations, responses to questions, and scientific merit, including originality, study design, data quality, analytical methods, scientific value, and subject mastery.
