Description
The Oral Medicine and Pathology Scientific Group of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) offers this annual travel award to encourage new investigators to undertake research and present their work. It supports students, trainees, postdoctoral researchers, and junior faculty residing in low- and middle-income countries who will present an accepted abstract at the IADR General Session & Exhibition.
The award focuses on research presented within the Oral Medicine and Pathology Scientific Research Group category. This category includes experimental investigations of diseases affecting the oral cavity and adjacent tissues, alongside epidemiological, clinical, and laboratory research. Studies of normal structure and cell, tissue, or organ cultures qualify when they contribute to understanding disease. Topics more appropriately covered by other groups, such as periodontal disease, caries, or salivary research, are excluded from this category.
